Work with RIM

Shared purpose.
Creative possibilities.

RIM welcomes relationships that connect African stories with creative expertise, production capability, learning opportunities and audiences. A useful partnership begins with a shared purpose and a clear understanding of what each organisation or person contributes.

We are interested in project based collaboration across Africa, the UK and the diaspora, with international relationships shaped around the film or programme.

01 / Work with RIM

Producers, directors and creative teams

Discuss an original film, a co-production relationship, a directing assignment or a defined production role. Tell us about your work, the project, its stage and the contribution you are seeking or offering.

We welcome established practitioners and emerging collaborators whose approach and experience fit the assignment.

02 / Work with RIM

Writers, performers and story owners

Introduce a story, a creative perspective or a relevant skill through a concise professional enquiry. Include your connection to the work and any useful approved portfolio links. We can agree the appropriate next step before receiving extensive or confidential materials.

03 / Work with RIM

Post-production and technical specialists

Editors, sound professionals, cinematographers, production managers and other specialists can introduce their relevant experience and working approach. We are interested in dependable project relationships with a clear scope and professional delivery.

04 / Work with RIM

Distributors, exhibitors and rights businesses

Explore suitable films, available territories, screening programmes or a defined rights relationship. The discussion should identify the audience, the proposed use and the contribution each party can make.

05 / Work with RIM

Colleges, universities and training partners

Develop a practical workshop, practitioner contribution or a connected learning programme. Educational and creative organisations can discuss participant needs, learning outcomes, facilities and the relationship between a workshop and their wider programme.

We also welcome introductions from suitable facilitators and subject specialists. A learning partnership should have defined responsibilities, an appropriate teaching approach and an achievable delivery plan.

06 / Work with RIM

Cinemas festivals and cultural hosts

Create a curated screening, filmmaker discussion, festival contribution or showcase. Tell us your location, audience, programme purpose and the resources already in place. A workshop or African Origin conversation can be considered as part of the activity.

07 / Work with RIM

Programme sponsors and institutional collaborators

Discuss support for an agreed screening, festival or learning programme with clearly defined benefits and reporting. The proposed contribution may be funding, facilities, equipment, expertise or audience access through an appropriate agreed route.

Government and public institutions can discuss a specific cultural, educational or creative industry brief through the relevant commissioning or partnership process.
