African storytelling.
International outlook.
Rehoben Inspiraxion Media brings a focused film and screen proposition to the wider Rehoben creative vision: develop meaningful African stories, build the right production relationships and connect the work with audiences.
Based in the UK, RIM is developing a film business that combines original projects with services for other producers and commissioning clients. Production, directing, distribution, exhibitions, festivals, training and audience development form connected parts of that work.
Work with RIM
Our purpose
We want African stories to be told with cultural depth, creative ambition and attention to the people whose experiences shape them. That can mean a contemporary family drama, a tightly constructed thriller, a documentary with meaningful access or a film inspired by history, music or literature.
We approach Africa through particular places, languages and communities. The detail that makes a story specific can also give it the emotional force to connect with someone far beyond its setting.
How Africa and the UK connect
Our intended model places much of the filming in Africa, supported by local producing knowledge, cast, crew and locations. The UK contribution is planned around the production: creative and business coordination, suitable post-production expertise and preparation for international release discussions.
We seek collaborators who bring a clear contribution and a shared commitment to the work. Roles, ownership, resources and expectations should be understood from the beginning.
Led by Benedict Rehoboth
Benedict Rehoboth leads RIM's business development, creative direction and partnership building. His background brings together UK business experience and digital media and content creation, informing a practical approach to developing ideas, working with people and building a sustainable creative enterprise.
Through RIM and African Origin, his focus is on African creative achievement, meaningful collaboration and stories with the potential to engage international audiences.
Building relationships that support the work
Our engagement with production, African cultural and photographic communities, including Pact, the Royal African Society and the Royal Photographic Society, supports learning and informed professional relationships.
We develop project partnerships around the actual work: a film, a screening, a festival contribution or a practical learning programme. Each collaboration has its own purpose and agreed responsibilities.
