African film exhibitions

African cinema.
Experienced together.

Bring a distinctive African film programme to your cinema, arts venue, university or cultural space. RIM is developing curated exhibitions that combine compelling films with the context, conversation and local relationships that make a screening memorable.

Our programme begins in the UK, with plans to develop selected partner presentations in Europe and the USA. We welcome early conversations with venues and organisations interested in helping shape that journey.

A programme with a point of view

A screening can explore contemporary life, family, enterprise, migration, music, heritage or a particular national cinema. The programme might centre on a feature, a selection of shorts or a focused season, supported by an agreed discussion or filmmaker contribution.

We intend to present suitable RIM productions as they become available and films licensed from other African and diaspora creators. Each title is selected for its creative quality, audience fit, rights availability and delivery readiness.

A practical proposition for hosts

We can discuss programme curation, film booking coordination, an event format, approved publicity materials, audience partnerships and the production of a moderated conversation. The agreed assignment should reflect the host's venue, technical facilities, local knowledge and budget.

The first step is a conversation about your audience and what you want the event to achieve. A one-off presentation, a recurring film night and a touring season need different plans.

Make room for the conversation

Filmmaker Q&As, subject specialists and African Origin interviews can open up the story behind a film. We can also discuss an accompanying workshop that gives participants a practical way to explore a theme or filmmaking technique.

Guest participation and learning activity are shaped and confirmed for each programme. The screening itself remains central: the right film, a suitable venue and an audience that feels welcome.
